Neither tower nor statue,
The Daughter of liberty is the muse of liberty. She is a symbol of the American people's identity, culture, traditions, modernity, and of her fighting spirit in the face of any challenge.
She is resolutely turned towards an ideal future and constantly in search of her origins, her individuals and collective memory.
The Daughter of Liberty is a symbol of worldwide communication, universal admiration, of audacity, beauty, power, grandeur, dignity, the mind and eternity. She will join the SEVEN WONDERS OF THE WORLD in their unique commemoration of turning points in the story of mankind. She rises progressively from the dust and chaos, from primal materials, from the elements of earth, water and sound into the light.
She is the re-emergence of the being, reconstituting matter and mind, all focused in the summit of a glass pyramid. She will concentrate energy and project it in a divine elevation of metal and glass, symbolizing strenght and fragility, looking out in search of her mother's gaze – the Statue of Liberty, symbol of the future.
The epicentre of the Twin Tower's two footprints is linked by the magnetic connection of two bases points of the glass pyramid. It reinforces the sense of solidarity and the focus on memory and energy. The pyramid of photosensitive glass, falling in search of its base, is raised to allow the flow and embrace of nature, sound, scent, light, water, air, and LIFE.
Innumerable footprints fleeing from the twin towers of declining dimensions melt into and finally disappear in the water only to be born again in the energised pyramid. It rises into a space of meditation offered by a winged angel.
The metronome of time will halt its swing twice daily in commemoration of the two tragic strikes. Water sprays and fountains will halt. All clocks and pendulums will stop. All noise, sound, and breath will cease with the gradual extinction of vibrating light. This echo of silence provides a time for memory.
The field of weat represents those who have been lost. This forest of individual arborrescent stalks or sheaves carry the names of those who have gone towards the heavens and light. They may be isolated or regrouped according to the wishes of the families.
