An artists’ favorite research theme.
Already in the old days, artists had admired the quiet strength and the beauty of those wonderful animals. As confirmed by their numerous representations in the Egyptian temples. The Arab writers refer to Rhinocerostoo since very older times. Those animals very often appear in their legends as creatures gifted with supernatural powers. Dürer made a drawing : one can notice a kind of animal wearing a cover, with legs covered with scales and a tiny horn on its shoulder.
